B4, during n after.

21st May, Monday:

Getting all prep for work. Back to the lab, back to face the wave of requests awaiting for me during my absence. Had a slow start to the wk, feeling more recharged after a vacation. =) N time to rethink my next step in life... How to make more money ppl??!

19th May, Saturday:

Return to SG and tat was the end to my 10 day rendezvous in mainland. Fun it was, cause i was far from the realities of work n all else in Sing. Weather was unpredictable in the mountains & worst in Jiu Zai Gou. Armed wif only a thin jacket, 1st few days were cold n rainy n totally unprepared for the chill. Eventually it snowed (i.e. temp wld haf dropped to 0 or minus sth!). Mth of May shld haf been summer & warm, so it was a pleasent surprise for every1 to c frost during the trip. But of course, we had to but a winter jacket which cost 30RMB-a mere 6 Sing dollars, in order for us to survive. Prices r amazing in China. Do bear in mind to bargain at wadever purchases to be made. Speaking from experience, the prices can usually be slashed by half if not more!

Down to the city, temperature was not far off from Sing. Not much shopping to do as prices r pretty similar to home at their shopping district. Perishables r worth buying, they r darn cheap! Say, to buy a kg of fruits of the season may cost just less than a dollar! It was fruits galore... We feasted on sweet n juicy peaches n a fruit less seen in Sing called Pi Pa (u know the chinese med, Chuan Pei Pi Pa Gao? Its the fruit used in the syrup). Besides visiting the beautiful lakes in Jiu Zai Gou, the ever famous Er Mei Shan n Buddah of Le Shan was also part of the itenary. Nope, nuns are not a common sight in Er Mei Shan as wad most believe. Don ask me, i din bother to ask why. Ha... The Buddah was rather magnificent, a superb-ly huge statue carved from the stone wall of a mountain done by ppl hundreds of thousands of yrs ago. Impressive i must say.

Overall, we took 400 over photos throughout the whole trip. Snapping at wadever's cute, interesting n of the places visited. Quite an interesting trip to c how far China haf progressed till today (discounting the level of sanitation-i.e. Toilet). If i forget to mention, toilets in mainland r either short of doors or wif doors but w/o lock or doors which serve no purpose of privacy cause u wld haf been able to look over to ur neighbours cubicle once u stand up. Though i was travelling wif a bunch of aunties n uncles double or even triple my age, it was fun interacting wif them..


7th May, Sunday:

Packing n getting bags ready for take off on wednesday. Counting down, 2 days to go! List of things to bring: toothbrush, charger, camera....... blah blah.... n the list goes on.. Holiday mood sets in~~ =D
